Pat Tillman is NOT my hero

this has been bothering me for about 5 years now, and i never thought it was necessary, but the mainstream media keeps throwing this in our faces. pat tillman is a hero because he turned down tens of millions of dollars to fight for his country after the 9/11 attacks. he died via friendly fire in afghanistan.

many of us were hurt after the 9/11 attacks, and some of us joined the armed forces to take care of business overseas. i'm not going to judge anyone who were in a poor living situation and this pushed them over the edge. tillman had a multi-million dollar salary, and he threw it away to hunt down some terrorists. i guess this is noble because he did what he wanted to do, but he chose to fight for a vengeful administration instead of fighting for his family. that was not what i consider a good decision.

now im sorry for anyone who knew tillman. i dont mean to talk smack about someone who threw away millions of dollars for his country. i just think he would have helped his country more by making money. he should have spent that money buying stocks and bonds and helping charities and all this stuff. but he chose to kill some arabs. he had the opportunity to do good in ways that very very very few people could. but instead, he became another number.

now i realize this is a real person, but god damn, he's become a tool of american propaganda. all i hear is hero-this and hero-that. i just had enough.
